Pied piper appeal

Founded in 1992, The Pied Piper Appeal is the leading children’s charity in Gloucestershire. Our mission is to make a difference to the lives of sick and disabled children in the county.

We do this in four main ways: Funding the Children’s Centre at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and other county hospitals: supporting all of the SEND Schools in Gloucestershire with equipment and resources; sending children with life-limiting illnesses and their families on Wish Holidays to make lasting memories; improving children’s experiences at mental health facilities in the county.

At Pied Piper we have a passion for raising funds – as a charity that distributes funds we have to raise money each year so we can support the many requests we have for funding. We work tirelessly to be creative and raise funds for our charities and are ambitious in our goals.

Doing more – we want to push and expand the boundaries of both the quality and quantity of care and accessibility in the county.

Partnerships – we work with other charities, organisations and partners to raise money and support projects in the public, private and voluntary sector.

Fundraising – As a volunteer-led organisation we aim to keep costs as low as possible as far as overheads are concerned. Employees are kept to a minimum and the funds raised in the County are spent in the County.

winston’s wish

We are a childhood bereavement charity supporting children and their families in the UK after someone close to them has died. Our expert teams offer one-off and ongoing bereavement support as well as providing online resources, specialist publications and training for professionals.

The death of a parent or sibling in childhood can be the most traumatic experiences a child will ever have to face. It is a life-altering, sometimes life-threatening event, which can, for the most vulnerable, lead to devastating lifelong consequences, including poor physical and mental health, social exclusion and shortened life expectancy. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

With the right support, given at the right time, and in the right way, bereaved children can go on to live happy and healthy lives. They have hope.

Grief can destroy a child’s future, but with your help, Winston’s Wish can ensure that it doesn’t.
